Peer Mentor Program

Students helping students

The purpose of the Peer Mentor Program is to help incoming freshmen and transfer students to achieve their goals of pursuing a college degree at New Mexico State University. Mentors help students academically and socially by exposing them to various resources on campus, such as the Center for Learning Assistance, Students Support Services, Placement & Career Services, etc.

Our current mentors work with their students on a one-to-one basis with academics, social and university activities, career choices, and much more.

Here are a few things we help students with:

  • Time management
  • Advising for class registration
  • Familiarity with university resource centers
  • Help find scholarships
  • Introduce them to social activities provided by AIP and the university

If you are an incoming freshman or transfer student and would like to apply to be a part of our Peer Mentor Program, download and submit the application.
